My cat is suddenly afraid of everything, even his dish of food. Been 24 hours no physical reason.

I had a cat who lived to be 1 1/2 years old. He was seemingly a happy, healthy cat who was up-to-date on his vaccinations. He started acting strange also. I remember he feared his favorite spots in the house too. He wouldn't eat, or even go to the litter box. He was like a zombie. He had a blank stare. He stayed on the kitchen stove and table, places he never used to go. I took him to the vet and they did a blood test, he was diagnosed with feline leukemia. My cat wasn't around any other cat to be exposed to it, he had to have been born with it, and the disease was lying dormant all of that time. I really hope that is not the case for your cat, just the way yours was acting reminded me of my cat. There really wasn't any physical signs. It just hit all of a sudden. His gums though were pale. Take a finger and push on his gums to see his capillary refill time. I would take him to the vet if his behavior continues. Good luck.
