Can you imagine if today's Republicans were around in WWII?

Yes it was conservative and patriotic thinking that saw us through that war. What I can't imagine is today's liberals being around. The whole country was behind the war effort then-there were patriotic war films starring John Wayne and others. It was ok to call your enemy your enemy, or even a "jap" or "kraut". The justice system in this country would have scoffed at the notion that someone in a foreign country taken into custody for firing on US soldiers would be allowed to claim rights under our constitution. Someone like Michael Moore would have been laughed right out of Hollywood. What great "progress" we've made, huh?
