What do you think of Oliver Stone?

I think he is a gifted director, incredible. However, I think he can be fairly agressive in pushing his messages home. From seeing W. (haven't seen Nixon yet) although I thought the movie likeable, Stone seems to paint Republican people derogatarily (if that is a real word).
